Bio-based

Blending sustainable feed stocks like wood or starch with reclaimed, recycled, or compostable plastics, the beginning of our resin’s life already has a much smaller carbon footprint than traditional plastics.

Biodegradables – Jute

Sonali biodegradable composites are created from a proprietary blend of starch-based ingredients and other materials.

Sustainable

Derived from natural resources and designed to help eliminate waste, these bioplastic resins are a perfect way to meet consumers’ demands for high quality and eco-friendly products.

Bioplastics

Bioplastic is a biodegradable material that come from renewable sources and can be used to reduce the problem of plastic waste that is suffocating the planet and polluting the environment. From manufacturing processes that release less global warming related pollution to the ability to biodegrade, bioplastics seem environmentally friendly.

What is Jute?

Jute fabric is a type of textile fiber made from the jute plant. While there are a few different botanical varieties of jute, one of the main species used to make jute fabric is Corchorus olitorius (white jute). However, another species of jute, called Corchorus capsularis (tossa jute) is considered to be superior even though it is harder to cultivate.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance the unique characteristics of bioplastics to help designers and manufacturers create inspired products that empower consumers to contribute to a more sustainable world. In everything we do, we strive to minimize the use of petroleum-based chemicals, maximize the use of renewable materials, increase the value of reclaimed and recycled materials, and enhance the performance of biodegradable materials

Plastics are indispensable in many areas of our modern lives, yet questions over the material’s sustainability are rarely out of the headlines these days. Are biodegradable, compostable and bio-plastics really a better environmental solution? Richard McKinlay, Head of Circular Economy at Axion, offers his opinion. Plastic […]
Bioplastic is a biodegradable material that come from renewable sources and can be used to reduce the problem of plastic waste that is suffocating the planet and polluting the environment. The first known bioplastic, polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), was discovered in 1926 by a French researcher, Maurice Lemoigne, from […]
What are bioplastics? The term “bioplastic” represents a plastic substance that is based (wholly or in part) on organic biomass rather than petroleum. Many bioplastics are biodegradable, which is – in theory – one of their greatest advantages (more on this later). However, it is easy […]
